ENVIRONMENT MAJOR (PARIS CAMPUS)
Innovation and optimisation for sustainable development
The objective of this major is to use innovation to model and develop a sustainable environmental project. Students are mainly required to have a background in earth sciences and pollution management. The political and legal issues related to the environment will also be studied.
The major provides the scientific expertise and modelling tools required in the field of sustainable development. It is particularly geared towards students wishing to play an active role in environmental protection.
The EPF's "environment" major, in interaction with the "energy" and "urbanism" majors, places its training strategy around four main themes:
- Management and study of environments and ecological balances
- Prevention and reduction of pollution, nuisances and risks
- Societal management of the environment
It is aimed particularly at students who wish to participate actively in the protection of the environment.
Objectives: To train students to think differently by developing their eco-citizenship and social responsibility to become new conscious and committed engineers.

- Technological and methodological skills to understand projects for the future.
Graduates in this major are recruited by eco-industrial service groups, local authorities, consultancies, research institutes, national and European agencies and NGOs in the areas of pollution, change management and environmental consulting.
