Corinne de Bilbao, President & CEO of GE France, sponsor of the class of 2019
The 471 EPF' students and apprentices in the first year of the engineering cycle got to meet their sponsor, Corinne de Bilbao, for their sponsorship ceremony on 16 December.
Corinne de Bilbao, a former general manager of sales for the GE Oil & Gas Subsea business, spent most of her career with GE, starting in 1989 in the GE Healthcare business. With 25 years of industrial experience, she was appointed to head the GE branch in France in February 2016, where her role is to support the growth of the group's activities in France and the digital transformation of GE .
In her very inspiring speech, Corinne de Bilbao reminded the future engineers that they have a role to play in the world of tomorrow and that immense challenges are awaiting them. She also told them about her 3 success factors: "know how to get out of your comfort zone and take risks, know how to surround yourself and work in a team, to have self-confidence".
The jobs they will have do not exist yet, and for this reason, engineering students must become adaptable, versatile and work collaboratively. Corinne de Bilbao concluded her speech by sending the following message to the students: "Keep dreaming, have dreams bigger than you".
