The EPF Foundation Presents Its 2024-2028 Strategic Plan

On June 11, a few months before its centenary and to accelerate its development, EPF unveiled its new strategic plan for the next four years. Firstly, the school aims to achieve gender parity in its training programs by 2028, thus reclaiming its position as the leading generalist engineering school for women. Also, at the heart of the new strategic are the training of future actors in technological and environmental transformation, the diversification of student profiles, pedagogical innovation, and AI.

A Distinctive Model of Private Higher Education and Research

EPF embodies a unique model of private higher education and research, rooted in a history of women's emancipation and supported by a Foundation recognized as an institution promoting the public interest. EPF’s 2024-2028 strategy reaffirms this societal commitment by placing gender equality at the core of its plans. The EPF Foundation orchestrates a dynamic ecosystem where innovation, entrepreneurship, and research combine to address contemporary challenges. The goal is to maximize societal impact by aligning the schools’ actions with its original mission and by catalyzing the necessary resources for the development and ambition of its programs.

EPF draws its strength from a rich history and a deep societal commitment. Founded in 1925 by Marie-Louise Paris, the school paved the way by making engineering studies accessible to women, thus promoting gender equality in scientific and technical fields. In its new 2024-2028 strategic plan, EPF places a central focus on promoting gender equality and empowering women in engineering and research fields. This commitment is reflected through several ambitious initiatives aimed at enhancing the presence and influence of women within the school.

This measure aims to create an inclusive and diverse environment that reflects social reality and encourages the active participation of women in technical and scientific professions.

Secondly, the school will implement specific programs to support female assertiveness and leadership across all curricula. These initiatives include the implementation of female mentorship schemes, aimed at encouraging female students to fully engage in their academic and professional lives.

Thirdly, EPF will develop an annual observatory of women's careers in engineering, aimed at monitoring and promoting the careers of its female graduates. This initiative aims to identify potential obstacles and propose solutions to facilitate the advancement of women engineers in the workforce.

Finally, EPF will support the creation of new specific admissions for young women, such as the BCPST and access through apprenticeships, thereby offering educational opportunities tailored to various profiles of female students.

By 2028, EPF has set ambitious goals: to achieve a 100% student satisfaction rate in terms of pedagogy, to offer differentiated education tailored to all curricula, and to transform Pedagogical and Digital Innovation (IPN) into an innovative action-research laboratory. Enhanced mentoring, individual support for students in difficulty, and the introduction of new cross-disciplinary courses underline the school’s commitment to training versatile engineers ready to tackle future challenges.

And EPF isn’t stopping there: with the lunch of new apprenticeship programs and constant adaptation to technological advances such as artificial intelligence and environmental issues, it is shaping the leaders of tomorrow who will be capable of innovating and contributing positively to society. In short, at EPF, pedagogy combines academic excellence, dynamism, and proactive preparation for 21st-century engineering careers.

Simultaneously, EPF actively engages in the promotion of research, seeking to transform knowledge and discoveries into concrete solutions benefiting society. This ambition is materialized in the goal of generating an annual volume of 2 million euros through development activities by 2028, supported by strategic partnerships and collaborations with industries and public sectors.

Finally, EPF encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and the establishment of innovative pathways, such as the engineer-doctorate pathway based on the CIFRE scheme. This program aims to strengthen the links between academic research and industry, offering students the opportunity to contribute directly to applied research projects while continuing their engineering training.

Entrepreneurship also plays a crucial role, stimulating the creativity of students and graduates through initiatives like INCUBACT'HER, a pioneering incubator that promotes the creation of enterprises with societal and environmental impact. By ensuring gender diversity in its admission criteria and offering specific support to female entrepreneurs, EPF reinforces its commitment to equal opportunities and inclusive innovation.

In parallel, EPF cultivates strategic partnerships with key players such as BPI France, the Île-de-France Region, and various companies, enriching its ecosystem with diverse expertise and crucial resources for technological and social innovation.
