With more than 150 partnerships worldwide and around fifteen international double degrees, EPF Graduate School of Engineering had set a goal to reinforce its strong presence of more than 25 years in Germany by developing a new double degree program with the Hochschule of Karlsruhe. Starting from the beginning of the next academic year, the two institutions will welcome the first batch of students of their bilateral program in "Business Administration Engineering", certified by the Franco-German University (UFA).

A bilateral program born thanks to a common expertise

With a major in Engineering & Management in its second-cycle academic degree program, it was quite naturally that EPF approached the University of Applied Sciences in Karlsruhe in regards to their joint expertise in Business Decision Engineering. This bilateral program, accessible to students with an associate’s degree, will allow both institutions to host and send their students on both of their respective campuses and will offer them the opportunity to obtain both the Master’s degree in "Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Business Administration Engineering" awarded by the Hochschule of Karlsruhe and the engineering diploma awarded by EPF.

French and German candidates will follow a specific study curriculum:

- 3rd year in France in the polytechnic engineering program on EPF's Parisian campus

- 4th year in Germany with the 1st semester being an internship in a research laboratory or a company and the 2nd semester in Karlsruhe in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Business administration engineering

- 5th year in France: the 1st semester in the Engineering & Management major at EPF’s Parisian campus and the 2nd semester in Germany in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen - Business administration engineering major in Karlsruhe

- Additional semester for the End of Study Project or thesis allowing students to validate EPF’s diploma and the German Master’s degree

According to Stefan Seiler, Head of the International Department at EPF, this new Franco-German double-degree program "is a great opportunity for academic training and professional development for the students of both partner institutions. The geographical proximity between Paris / Sceaux and Karlsruhe, only 3h30 by TGV, will allow the students to truly live the Franco-German cooperation on a daily basis. They will be able to take advantage of a dense network of French and German companies engaged in cross-border cooperation and will thus become fine connoisseurs of French and German companies's management model. They will become keen advocates to strengthening pre-existing ties between the companies / institutions of the two countries".

EPF, a pioneering school in terms of German double degrees

For 25 years, EPF has been offering a unique geographical alternation program of five years in collaboration with the Hochschule München (HM). The Franco-German program, accessible after the baccalaureate, allows enrolled students to obtain the only joint Franco-German diploma in production and automation both authorized by the CTI and ASIIN Akkreditiert.

The multicultural group of about 30 students, which makes up this original program, benefits from a pedagogy based on proximity between the teacher and the students, individualized monitoring and apprenticeship in an international context with 5 compulsory internships (minimum 16 months in total) in France and in Germany and two years of study in Munich.

This internationally recognized double-degree builds special partnerships with major global groups such as Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, Airbus, BMW, Safran, Nexter, L'Oreal, Faurecia, GE, Liebherr, Claas, Dürr, Mahle, Mondelez, first recruiters of graduates of the Franco-German program. These trilingual management engineers, prepared for the realities of global exchange and management in an intercultural context are highly sought after, have an excellent employability rate and an international hiring salary of 50-52 k€ gross on average.
