Student Challenge: the EPF-SCBS team wins second place in the Australian eChallenge!
For the 4th edition of the Australian eChallenge France, a team of 5 students from MSc ICE (Innovation, Creativity & Entrepreneurship) in collaboration with SCBS (South Champagne Business School) was awarded a second place and won a 5000$ prize thanks to their “Fashion Mavericks” project.
The University of Adelaide in Australia started this challenge. Since 2016, it is promoted in France through the city of Châlons en Champagne. The objective of the competition is to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship by helping students go from a simple innovative idea to a concrete strategic project.
Thanks to their idea called ‘Fashion Mavericks”, the 5 members of the team – Danielle, Marinus, Werner, Tim and Paul- from South Africa, Germany and France won the jury over.
The objective of their project is to create a place for exchange for fashion design students and fashion consumers through a unique platform, which enables students to put their creations online with a technical description of each creation. This is a way of enhancing their portfolio and curriculum thus benefiting from a first recognition. Fashion amateurs will have access to a catalogue of exclusive and unique creations. They can buy designer’s products at a low price, made to measure and ethically acceptable that gurantee designers with a fair pay and help them develop their notoriety before graduating.
The idea, which is currently being tested at the Cité de la Mode et du Design in Paris, could be adapted to other French cities if the tests are conclusive.
Congratulations to the team and we wish you every success for the rest of the project!
