International Cooperation: EPF Strengthens Partnerships in China
Strategic Exchanges to Strengthen Collaborations with China
Accompanied by Pierre Jiang, EPF’s Manager for Franco-Chinese Programs, Emmanuel Duflos and Eugenia Llamas conducted a series of strategic meetings in China. The mission aimed to solidify relationships with several Chinese institutions and assess joint educational projects.
The institutions visited included the Anglo-Chinese Institute at Chengdu University (CDU), the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Sichuan Tourism University (SCTU), the Sichuan Provincial Exchange Center, the Ministry of Education's Exchange Center in Beijing, and Tianjin University (TJU).
Strengthened Partnership with SCTU, Including a New Exchange Agreement
At SCTU’s School of Computer Science and Engineering, the delegation evaluated the "4+0" program, a joint initiative allowing Chinese students to complete a full degree in Electrical Engineering and Smart Building Management, with academic support from EPF. This program aims to train engineers with international expertise to meet the specific needs of the Chinese market.
During the visit, a new exchange agreement was signed with SCTU. This agreement enables students enrolled in the joint program, as well as other SCTU students, to participate in academic exchanges in France.
Additionally, a ceremony recognized three current top-performing female students, with the French Consul General in Chengdu, Guillaume Delavallée, in attendance.
Opening New Opportunities with Sichuan Province Institutions
The delegation met with local government representatives responsible for international relations at Sichuan’s Provincial Exchange Center. This meeting identified the province's priorities in education and innovation, creating potential avenues for collaboration, particularly in engineering and digital technologies.
Strengthening Ties with Beijing and Tianjin
The visit to Beijing’s Ministry of Education Exchange Center reinforced contacts with Chinese educational authorities. Discussions focused on developing collaborations in engineering programs, academic mobility, and joint research projects.
Finally, at Tianjin University (TJU), the EPF delegation attended the 10th anniversary of the International Institute of Engineering (TIEI). This event celebrated a decade of international cooperation and highlighted the institute's achievements. Discussions centered on developing new joint programs, particularly in sustainable engineering and emerging technologies. A key moment of the visit occurred when the delegation met with six EPF students currently spending a semester at TIEI, studying architecture, data science, and computer science.
Towards Enhanced Cooperation Between EPF and China
This mission consolidated EPF's ties with several Chinese institutions, particularly through the exchange agreement with SCTU and expanded cooperation prospects in research and academic exchanges. In the coming months, EPF plans to continue and deepen these collaborations to support new projects in engineering education and research.
